Hier een overzicht van commentaar en berichtgeving die tijdens de voorlaatste etappe gevoerd werd met de pers.
Al deze berichten laat ik in zijn originaliteit zodat het gevoel van overwinning of teleurstelling beter naar voren komt.

Email van DJUICE dragons tijdens de race(7de):"God, please give us a parking lot in Sweden. All the way from England, we have been fighting harder than ever to keep up with the leading pack. Not a single drop of water to leeward in the boat. In the navstation I have tried to sit half a meter to windward. But we need something to go our way - very soon.

ILLBRUCKS Kostecki na een 4de in Volvo etappe 8:"We made some tactical blunders, I would say going up the Norwegian coast, we weren’t going fast either. We had a big sail problem after past the coast of Denmark this afternoon, and that’s where we lost a lot of distance, we lost a lot of distance there. So we made another tactical blunder after that, so everything just came at once. Everyone is really tired, it’s hard, it’s tough to be perfect all the time."

Grant Dalton, schipper AMER SPORTS ONE (5de):"I think we sailed really well. The guys did a really great job, we got a great start and we led for the first 24 hours. But once we started reaching when we got into the North Sea in moderate air running, we just didn’t have the pace. In fact we got right back into third, two hours out of here, and then we started reaching again and then we got rolled again. The guys did a really great job; the boat just didn’t have the pace.""We were fifth in the last leg too and I wasn’t’ that happy about that although there was nothing we could have done about that. We’re just not fast enough - full stop, in that stuff."

En Team SEB over hun teleurstelling:"Of course we are very disappointed and sad. We have been fighting as much as we could but we never really got our pay off that we had been waiting for"
"'We did at least 30 tacks in the tiring upwind conditions. Each time we had to move thousand kilograms of sails to the other side of the boat. We had not been sleeping for twenty hours and everyone onboard were completely exhausted"
